October 3, 24 & November 14, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: Sinclair Centerville Campus, 5800 Clyo Rd., Centerville, OH 45459
According to the Alzheimer’s Association® “high-quality dementia care training can lead to an improvement in communication between caregivers and individuals living with dementia, a reduction in dementia-related behaviors and an increase in job satisfaction for staff.”
Dementia caregiving is a world where the ‘normal’ rules don’t apply and we all need training in order to support, motivate, and keep people with dementia safe. Most health care workers are ill-equipped and ill-informed to deal with the unique needs of those with Alzheimer’s, this lack of understanding can sometimes lead to elder abuse.
During this training you will understand dementia, identify and differentiate the various types of dementia, and utilize the patient’s story for interpreting behaviors.
