“TechCred numbers speak for themselves,” said Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner. “Ohio’s economy and workforce continue to be strengthened by the thousands of tech-focused credentials earned by employees through this successful program.”

Since the program launched in October 2019, a total of 2,173 Ohio employers have been approved for TechCred, funding up to 57,233 tech-focused credentials to upskill Ohio workers.

TechCred is Ohio's innovative workforce program that reimburses employers for industry-recognized, technology-focused, credentialed training programs and certificates. Businesses of all sizes, from any industry, are eligible for up to $30,000 per round and up to $180,000 per year.

To allow businesses more time to plan their employee trainings in advance, the Governor’s Office of Workforce transformation announced TechCred applications will officially open on a bimonthly basis for the remainder of 2023.

2023 Application dates:

March 1 – 31
May 1 – 31
July 3 – 31
September 1 – 29
November 1 - 30
